SHOT Show 2017 | SureFire MasterFire Holster System
Masterfire Holster System
The Masterfire is a holster systems that indexes off of the weapon light. The holster covers only the weapon mounted light and the trigger guard and therefore allows almost any size of handgun to be holstered. Since the muzzle of the gun does not intersect the holster, there isn’t any interference with accessories mounted on the gun. It is then possible to mount suppressors, RDS or other various accessories and mods.

The Masterfire has a level 3 retention system and can be belt mounted. It works only with the proprietary line of lights, which includes 5 models (as of Feb 2017):
- the XH 15 (with an entry level price of $150 and 350 Lumens)
- the XH 35 (with a Max-Vision beam)
- the XH 55 (with a Max-Vision beam and a Green Laser)
- the proprietary X400 Ultra (with red and green laser)
- the proprietary X300 Ultra H (with a Total Internal Reflection lens and 600 Lumens)
The key feature of the holster is the way it interacts with the weapon mounted light, and therefore the lack of interference with accessories mounted on the gun (or any after market mods). On the Masterfire is placed a switch that interacts with the weapon mounted light when the gun is presented from the holster. When the switch is in the ON position the light, laser or light+laser combination will be turned on if the weapon is presented and turned OFF when the weapon is reholstered.
The Masterfire interacts with the belt system with an adjustable belt loop.

SHOT Show 2017 | Trijicon
At SHOT Show 2017, Trijicon displayed the new optics for this year: the new MRO Patrol, the new AccuPower 1-8, the new MGRS and the line of Thermal optics.
MRO Patrol
The new Trijicon MRO Patrol is a modified version of the MRO red dot sight. It features an objective cover and a anti-reflective device and comes from the factory with an ocular lens cover.
AccuPower 1-8 x 28
The new Trijicon AccuPower is a versatile variable low power optic with a first focal plane reticle. The 1 power setting is a true 1x and allows the user to engage the target with both eyes open. The clarity of the optic combined with the high power of 8x allows for very accurate engagements even at distance. The optic’s reticle and adjustments are available both in MIL and MOA.
MGRS (Machine Gun Reflex Sight)
The Trijicon MGRS is designed to be mounted on 249, 240, M134 or on the “Ma Deuce”. I features a very large (both in width and height) 1 x obejective lens which provides and extremely wide field of view. To the MGRS there can be attached a flippable magnified optic.
Trijicon New Thermal Optics
2016 has been a very big year for thermal optics; the price has decreased and the technologies become more compact, lightweight and reliable. 2017 seems to also be a very promising year for the thermal optic segment of the tactical/hunting market with the entry of big players such as Trijicon and other competitors. Trijicon has displayed on the show’s floor some products, showing the interested in pursuing both the Clip-On and the Standalone segments.

TLR-6 Rail-Mountable
KeyMate
Headlamp
The same technology of the KeyMate applied to a very slim and low-profile headlamp.
Oakley SI | New Models
Speed Jacket
At the Oakley booth we had the opportunity to finally check out the newest model: SI Speed Jacket. This has been developed from a combination of Tombstone and Flak, combining core features from both models into a versatile, comfortable and performance-driven product.
Designed from input by Law Enforcement and Competitive Shooters, core features include:
- Design – Switchlock Technology trigger – quick release trigger for rapid lens exchange
- Prizm lens technology – TR22, TR45, Maritime Pol, Shallow H2O, Deep H2O
- Thin ear-stem technology for over/under the ear communication systems and hat compatibility
- Flak design silhouette – enhanced field of view and anti-fog performance
Ballistic M Frame Alpha
Alpha is an eco-system composed of a frame, gasket and goggle with a single lens working across all platforms. The SI ballistic M Frame Alpha is available with a multitude of lens: Prizm Shooting TR22 and TR45, Prizm Snow Jade, Rose and Black and the classic Grey and Clear.
Ballistic Shocktube
With a substantial lower profile than the M Frame the Shocktube model provides a high degree of protection while keeping an overall smaller footprint. Designed tactical training or more discreet applications in mind, the Shocktube features the thin stem technology for comms and ear-pro compatibility and exceeds the ANSI Z87.1 standard for impact protection.
This model is available in Black or Terrain Tan, with the Prizm Shooting lenses TR22 and TR45 as well as the classic grey.
New SI Prizm Snow Models
Steiner | New Red Dot Sights and Products for 2017
Steiner RX1:
Steiner has released images for the newest addition to their tactical and military line of weapon optics. The newest addition is a no-magnification RDS with a wide field of view, the R1X.
Steiner RX1-L:
Together with the R1X Steiner has released images of the R1X-L, a variant that incorporates RDS and laser in one single device. This design will allow the user not only to simplify the zeroing of the rifle, but also slim down the profile of the rifle by not having a laser device mounted on the hand-guard of the rifle. The use of short barrel rifles in close quarters usually compromises the ability of the operator to comfortably configure light and lasers on the weapon, the fact that Steiner has integrated two key components in one single device provides more flexibility to the user.
Steiner DBAL-PL:
The DBAL-PL incorporates four low-light/no-light elements in one single compact device: 400 Lumen white light, Green visible laser, IR laser and IR illuminator. The two switches allow to engage either white light and visible laser or IR illuminator and IR laser. The compact package is designed to fit on a sidearm.
(Also notice the new Beretta APX, the newest striker-fired pistol chambered in 9mm from the Italian manufacturer)
Steiner SBAL-PL:
Similar in design to the DBAL-PL the Steiner SBAL-PL features a 500 Lumen white light and a green visible laser.
