M+M Industries, a true innovator among the firearms community, has released the new version of their popular M10X. This platform takes inspiration from some of the most world-renowned rifles.
There are quite a bit of enhancements and changes applied to the new M10X. They have added the Magpul MOE pistol grip and the latest Magpul Zhukov folding/collapsible stock; designed specifically for all the platforms without buffer-tubes, equipped with QD sling mounts and modular cheek risers.
The handguard has also been redesigned, with the implementation of forward QD sling mounts and more Magpul M-Lok slots on the 2 and 10 o’clock position, making the whole system more customizable and modular.
As for the barrel, the new M10X’s muzzle has been change to allow the usage of 5/8 x 24 Muzzle brakes.
All of the changes and enhancements of the new version are compatible with the older M10X system.
The overall weight of the newer version is 7.4 LBS against 8.5 LBS of the older version.

One of the most innovative products displayed at Shot Show, this year, came from M+M industries. The American AK manufacturer is now presenting on the market the next step in the evolution of the Kalashnikov’s design. We haven’t had the chance to shoot this rifle yet, but form an engineering point of view it seems to be very promising, with increased reliability, accuracy and attachment options.
The M10, the previous version of this rifle, was sent to more the 250 experts in 2015 for a field test. Now, the M+M engineers have made some minor changes and adjustments based on the feedback they have received. This platform will be available in 7.62 x 39mm.
The difference between this product and other US-manufactured AK platforms is that instead of jamming an AK mag into an AR15 (we have seen these atrocities way to much at the show this year) or just rebuilding the AK with almost the same processes used in Soviet Russia in the 50s they have adapted the Kalash concept to the production systems of the 21st century. New technologies, like for example 3-axes CNC machining, allow the production of fewer but more complicated components, reducing slacks and weak points. This is a lighter, easier to maintain, more accurate and more reliable system that still fires the 7.62 x 39 round.
As you can see from the image below these are the components of the two weapon systems, on the right is the standard-design AK and the left is the new M+M model 10X.

What you carry on your person everyday (or at least accessible close to you) may dictate the success or the failure of a difficult situation.
Whether it is a medical, practical or defensive scenario carrying basic or advance equipment is really important.
If you live in an urban environment and you are not always close to your vehicle it’s suggested to build an EDC kit in a backpack or a sling-bag.
In our opinion your self defense tools and equipment should be at all times on your person. We only use our backpack to store extra mags, but not our primary firearm. If the situation does not allow us to reach for our EDC backpack we sill have a concealed-carry handgun with mounted light and extra mag, a folding blade, a smartphone, a wallet, a tactical flashlight and a tourniquet. Keeping our EDC defensive tool in the same location will also provide efficiency and accuracy to the situation.
We like to divide by priority and importance our daily-carry equipment into different levels.
Level 1: the EDC items carried on your belt and pant’s pockets.
Level 2: items in your bag directly accessible from the outside.
Level 3: items organized in pouches and dividers inside the bag.
About the backpack:
One of the key features that we really like of the Blade’s design is its side-access. This allows us to open and extract the content without dropping the bag or revealing what’s inside. Arc’teryx has padded this bag like a tank, it is comfortable, light and extremely protective towards electronics or fragile items.
The Blade has many pockets, some visible and some hidden. On the top, next to the handle, there are two pockets: one specifically designed for eye wear and one for GP items. On the side there are three pockets: the admin pocket (with stitched organizers for admin tools), the main compartment and the laptop (or even ballistic plates) compartment. All the internal parts of the bag are made of hi-viz nylon for better efficiency. The hidden pocket is located on the lower back close to the body, and it is intended for documents, extra cash, copy of conceal carry permit or passport.
Even on the road this backpack is really handy, in case of an accident (especially at night) you can grab it, exit the vehicle and move towards a safe location without keeping any valuables in the car. In the admin pocket we have placed two S&S Precision V-Lites and a Manta strobe to mark our presence to other drivers or the authorities until we have access to roadside flares.
This backpack is efficient and feature-rich without screaming “tactical”. We like the adaptability of PALs webbing and we like Camo but in most urban environments it just stands out too much. The clean design of the Blade 24 allows to be “undetected” or just not to stand out too much.

Bravo Company Manufacturing has released a full line of 300 Blackout carbines and upper receivers. With this latest addition, BCM has officially entered the 300 blk segment of the firearm industry. The many similarities in the components of the weapon platform between .223 (or 5.56) and 300 Blackout allow an easy and cost effective caliber conversion.
In the past few years we have seen many other companies entering the 300 Blk market; we are very glad to see one of the best firearms manufacturer following the same steps. BCM will be offering the 300 Blackout upper receiver in 16″ RECCE, 12.5″ CQB and 10″ Pistol lengths.
Approved by SAAMI on 17 January, 2011, Supersonic 300 AAC Blackout 110-125 grain 300 Blackout ammunition was designed to produce a similar ballistic effect on target of a 7.62 x 39 mm round but out of a 9″ barreled AR platform carbine. At 300 meters, 300 Blackout has 16.7% more energy than a 7.62 x 39mm round. A supersonic round fired from a 9″ barreled AR pattern 300 Blackout carbine will match or exceed the energy at the muzzle of a 14.5″ 5.56 M4 carbine.
BCM 300 Blackout carbines use the exact same components, down to the magazines, as the rest of our carbine fleet with the exception of the barrels. This also means an end user can utilize both their existing magazines and AR accessories to fine tune the feel of their carbine, same as any other M4 or Recce rifle.
The 300 Blackout line of BCM carbines are built on our 1:7 Twist 11595E Certified Steel barrels. The bore on each BCM Enhanced Barrel is honed to perfect the rifled finish prior to chrome lining both bore and chamber. With a continuous taper profile designed to optimize balance, performance and weight; each BCM barrel is fluted toward the rear near chamber, increasing strength and speeding heat dissipation. Barrel harmonics and accuracy have been further improved by removing the sharp handguard cap shoulder commonly associated with AR platform barrels. Reliable, mil-spec quality, BCM Enhanced Barrels will deliver a repeated positive effect on target, every time you press the trigger.
For more information about the 300 Blackout caliber, its conversion and its performance (also at distance) please take a look at what Travis Haley from Haley Strategic Partners has to say after one year of test and evaluation with this platform.
Kinetic Development Group has been releasing a lot of great new products in the last few months. They have been focusing mainly on the FNH Herstal SCAR platform, diversifying from most of the other firearm accessories manufacturers on the market. We have already introduced you to the SCAR Adaptable Stock (SAS) a few months ago. Since then KDG has released some other interesting products both for the SCAR and AR platform (technically any platform thanks to the Magpul M-LOK system [Read our article]). They started by providing the FN SCAR operator an alternative extended aluminum rail system that would provide the same customization and attachment options as most ARs do, this is the MREX (Modular Receiver EXtention).
KDG has also released in the past few moths a new mounting system based on the M-Lok platform: the Kinect QD. This line of Quick-Detach mounts allows the operator to change and swap accessories on the weapon within seconds. There are two spring-loaded wedges in the base of the Kinect™ mounting point. When you press the accessory or rail section down in the MLOK™ slot, two tiny deployment triggers get pressed against the rail firing the wedges into place. There is nothing more frustrating that fiddling with an allen wrench (if you can find it) to get your accessories on an off your weapon with traditional modular rail sections. This changes the whole dynamic of the MLOK™ system and really makes every accessory truly removable with the ability to mount it in a second when needed. Due to the high quality materials and engineering skills this system does not fear recoil or hard use.
The last product line KDG has released is the Sidelock Optic Mounts. The first one to arrive on the market was designed for the Aimpoint Comp M4. The patented cam system locks the mount down onto picatinny without the need of tools, side levers, or huge knobs. The release system allows users to change out their optics on the fly with less hassle. The 3 levels of locks insure the optic will not move unintentionally, maintaining zero for the shooter, and returning to zero when remounting in the same position after removal. They have now released two other optics mounts: the Sidelock Universal Scope Riser (that features a plain 1913 rail system) and the Sidelock Aimpoint Micro Mount.
Haley Strategic Partners has just released the new version of the INCOG Shadow Holster for the latest model of weapon-mounted pistol light from SureFire. The smaller 200 Lumen SureFire XC1 will allow the operator to better conceal the weapon even in low light conditions. The holster is sold both with or without the +1 mag caddy. The latest addition to the incognito line from HSP will start shipping in September.

The new Kinetic SAS kit takes the amazing Magpul designed Masada (ACR-E) stock system and allow for direct use with your SCAR platform rifle. Stock ships fully assembled with SCAR adapter for drop in use.
Just a few months ago, Kinetic Development Group launched its company with the promise to bring solutions to the small arms market existing with high quality firearms. They started with the FN SCAR as many SCARs are deployed with our Special Operations Forces. They also recognize the 16S and 17S are increasingly popular with American shooters and law enforcement.
Their first products, the MREX (modular rail extensions) for the front end of the SCAR has been very popular. The KDG front and rear sling points have also brought the SCAR into the year 2015 as far as QD sling solutions go. Well, they have just addressed another common complaint about SCAR. Some refer to it as the SCAR’s “UGG Boot” like stock system.
SAS kits come standard with 7 positions of length adjustment, cheek weld height adjustment, an AMBI QD sling attachment point, a weatherproof battery compartment, and a side-folding feature. Like the factory stock, the weapon can be fired with the stock folded. KDG also added an optional set-screw to allow users the option to eliminate any play between the stock and receiver.
The stock and adapter comes fully assembled from KDG. There are no tools required to install on your SCAR! The whole system retails for $299.00 and can be purchased at www.kineticdg.com or a dealer listed near you found on their website.www.kinetidg.com/dealers

Developed over the last year, the Dual-Enhanced View Optic has many features being considered for the Army’s future Squad Common Optic. Leupold chose to integrate the Close Mid-Range Reticle with Wind holds (CMR-W) from the popular MK6 line (7.62 version below for illustration). It offers bullet drop to 600m as well as windage but this version uses averages for 5.56 and 7.62 cartridges. It offers up to 50 mils of windage and elevation adjustment with 0.1 mil increments per click of the dials. The D-EVO is 2″ tall, 4.6″ long, taking up only 3.2″ of rail space due to its mount. It weighs 13.8 oz and is waterproof to 66 feet.
The photo above is looking out at about 200m while the image below is at 100m.

Haley Strategic Partners has just released the Disruptive Environments Chest Rig Heavy. This new chest rig will allow a more mission specific set up for those who operate with a 308 platform while having the same slickness and low profile of an HSP soft good.
The D3CR-H addresses the same mission as the original D3CR, but has been slightly redesigned to support .308 platforms. Optimized for work in urban, vehicle, rural and other confined settings, the Disruptive Environment Chest Rig was built to be worn as a stand alone system with a detachable H-harness or clipped into a armor platform equipped with a quick release system.
When run as a stand alone, the platform is low profile enough to be worn fully loaded and not print on a normal/loose fit jacket or sweatshirt. When run on a armor platform with a quick release system, such as SwiftClips™, it can be attached or stowed in seconds, giving the end user the versatility to transition from low vis to high vis or vice versa.
The rig intentionally does not include a radio or dedicated full size medical pouch so no matter the posture, essentials such as communications and medical kits can remain on the end user at all times. The D3CR-H is also compatible with the Haley Strategic D3 Expansion System allowing the end user to add features including the holster wedge or multi-mission hanger pouch.
The rifle magazine pouches accept almost any .308 magazine. The Multi-Mission Pouches accept 1911, Glock, Sig, M&P, XD and other standard double or single stack pistol magazines, as well as many handheld lights and multi-tools.
The system features:
4 .308 Magazine Pouches with Hypalon® magazine retention tabs (Pouches support SR25, SCAR, FAL, AR10, M14, Lancer Systems, PMAG LR)
2 Multi-Mission Pouches with Hypalon magazine retention tabs (Fits standard double and single stack pistol magazines as well as other equipment including flashlights and multi-tools)
Zipper GP Pouch (Medical, compass, GPS, phone, batteries and other various small electronics)
Zipper Tool Pouch (Includes elastic keepers for more mission specific essentials, such as Kestrel wind meters, ballistic calculators, dope cards, batteries, tools and various electronics).
The D3CR-Heavy will be available in early December in Coyote and Multicam for $179.
The German brand has released some specifications of the new VP9 Srtiker Pistol. The handgun seems to be very user friendly. Read More…
In late 2007 Magpul Industries Corp developed the Masada Concept Rifle that featured a polymer hand guard with three elongated vent holes that acted as a negative mounting surface for accessory rails.
These slots became one of the first “negative space” attachment systems that allowed the user to put mounting rails only where they were needed, as opposed to covering the entire surface with mounting rails, which are then covered with panels. The system also
allowed direct mounting of accessories, such as fore-grips and flashlights, with no rail interface needed.
In 2009 the MOE hand guards for the common AR15/M16 firearms were released, bringing the same slot system, along with rails, flash light mounts, grips and other accessories to the mainstream.
In the years since the MOE slot system has been released, several million MOE slot compatible accessories have been produced. Initially introduced as a Magpul-specific system, several other companies have built MOE slot compatible accessories in the years
since its release.
The MOE system was never officially released as an open standard, and the requirement to have access to the back side of the mounting surface limited its application.
Additionally, depending on the accessory item, the spacing increments were not always small or uniform enough for desired placement. These characteristics made MOE slots and accessories less ideal to use with free-float hand guards, which did not allow
back side access to the mounting surface. Rather than documenting and publishing the existing MOE slot information and weld nut system, Magpul engineers used this opportunity to substantially improve the feature set of the MOE system. The result is the M-LOK.
M-LOK stands for Modular Lock system. The M-LOK system retains an elongated slot appearance, similar to MOE slots (with different dimensions). The new slot is larger, has squared sides, and the new system adds the following feature set: M-LOK
• DIRECT MOUNT CAPABILITY
• CAMMED T-NUT
• OPTIMIZED FOR METAL AND POLYMER MANUFACTURING
• RECOIL/IMPACT MITIGATION LUGS
• INTERMEDIATE SPACING OPTION
• MULTI-DIRECTIONAL MOUNTING
• BACKWARDS MOE COMPATIBILITY
DIRECT MOUNT CAPABILITY
Accessories are mountable directly from the front face of the slot. No access from the rear of the system is needed.
The M-LOK direct attachment system features a custom, cammed T-Nut that positions the T-Nut consistently for installation and removal. Simply adjust the gap between the T-Nut and accessory to match the thickness of the mounting surface, align the T-Nuts
with the slot, and insert in the desired location. An initial ¼ to ½ turn of the screw for each T-Nut rotates the nut into engagement and then you may tighten normally.
OPTIMIZED FOR METAL AND POLYMER MANUFACTURING
Simple, rounded, rectangular slots with no sharp edges, complex geometry, or undercuts make the M-LOK slots optimal for high volume metal and polymer manufacturing
The M-LOK slots require no special cutters or angle gauges in the manufacturing process. With injection molding, the lack of an undercut allows simple mold design. All of this results in the lowest manufacturing costs possible.
RECOIL/IMPACT MITIGATION LUGS
Accessories feature recoil mitigation lugs with full recoil lug support in all 4 axes of movement, preventing movement of the system under recoil or rough handling, allowing repeatable accuracy in removal and reinstallation.
INTERMEDIATE SPACING OPTION
M-LOK accessories can be direct mounted entirely within a slot or bridging between/across slots, making the adjustment interval smaller than the size of a single slot. (Intervals equal two Picatinny rail slots (20mm) of adjustment). Full, 4 axis recoil lug support is maintained at every interval.
Accessories can be mounted facing toward the front or the rear (180 degrees difference), with full recoil lug support—the system does not need to be oriented in a specific direction to function properly.
BACKWARDS MOE COMPATIBILITY
In addition to the soon-to-be released, dedicated M-LOK accessory line, current MOE accessories will work with the M-LOK slots via an adapter plate, giving the M-LOK system access to millions of accessories already fielded for the MOE system.
